A new codeplex project: Taxonomy Breadcrumb web part

leave a comment »

Are you working with Sharepoint 2010 taxonomy (managed metadata) in Wiki pages or document sets? If yes, you might find my new CodePlex project useful. It’s about a free webpart which displays breadcrumb of a taxonomy term and its full path up to the term set. Read more and watch some images inside the article.

What it can do for you?
Taxonomy Breadcrumb is a (free) sharepoint web  part which displays breadcrumb of a taxonomy column (the path of a managed term  inside its tree). If, for example, you have a wiki page which is tagged with  some managed matadata column and you want to display the term’s full path inside
the page – This web part is for you. You can use it for every page which  represent a list item with managed metadata column (For example, a list item
view form or document set welcome page).

Example:Displaying taxonomy breadcrumb inside a Wiki page. Note how multiple  web parts lives together within the same page  (in case where you tage  the page with more than one taxonomy column)

Example:Displaying taxonomy breadcrumb inside a document set page
